Where Zanda is stronger
- Solo price. US$19 a month for one practitioner is less than half of Cliniko's US$45, as long as you stay under 1,000 appointments a month.
- Client portal. Patients book, pay, fill in forms and open telehealth links in one branded place.
- Claiming in Australia. Medicare, DVA and NDIS workflows are built in; Cliniko leaves claiming to payment types and item codes.
- Two-way SMS. Replies arrive as a conversation inside Zanda.
Where Cliniko is stronger
- Price from three practitioners. US$95 covers up to five; the same team on Zanda Growth pays US$87 for three and US$125 for five.
- Predictable bill. One fee by practitioner band, unlimited reception users, prices unchanged since 2011.
- Retail. Product sales and stock levels for clinics that sell supplements, braces or creams.
- Data region. Canada and Ireland as well as Australia and the UK; Zanda has no EU-mainland or Canadian region.
- Longer trial. 30 days against 14.
Which to choose
- Choose Zanda if you are a solo practitioner or a two-person practice, want a client portal, or claim from Medicare, DVA or NDIS in Australia.
- Choose Cliniko if you have three to eight practitioners, a busy reception, sell products, or need your data in Canada or Ireland.
- Compare Halaxy too if you want no fixed monthly cost at all: see Halaxy vs Cliniko. For more options see Power Diary alternatives and the 12 Cliniko alternatives.
If you are in Europe
Both products bill in US dollars and publish English only. For a clinic in Cyprus or Greece that needs a Greek or Russian interface, GHS co-payments and claim tracking, a tooth chart or prices in euros, Relatica, our own product, is free for one practitioner, €49 a month for Practice and €99 for up to five, with data in the EU. It has no telehealth and no client portal with login.
Is Zanda the same as Power Diary?
Yes. Power Diary renamed itself Zanda; the product, the company and the Australian allied-health focus are the same, and powerdiary.com pages lead to Zanda.
Is Zanda cheaper than Cliniko?
For one or two practitioners, yes: US$19 or US$68 a month against US$45 or US$95. From three practitioners Cliniko is cheaper: US$95 covers up to five, while Zanda costs US$87 for three and US$125 for five.
Which has better telehealth?
Both include it. Zanda runs on Zoom with group sessions and offers a Telehealth Pro add-on at US$9 per practitioner; Cliniko's telehealth is integrated and included once a card is on file.
Which is better for Medicare claiming?
Zanda lists built-in Medicare, DVA and NDIS workflows. Cliniko's pages list payment types and item codes for third-party claims but not direct claiming.
Can I switch from Cliniko to Zanda?
Yes. Export patients from Cliniko as CSV (Settings → Data exports) and ask Zanda which other records it imports. Both run in the browser, so you can trial Zanda for 14 days next to Cliniko.
